There is Something About Fall that I Love.

There is something about Fall that I love.  The turning leaves and chill in the air turns my thoughts towards the coming winter, but mostly, Autumn reminds me of new beginnings.

 

Maybe it is the reminder of shopping for pencils and a new Big Chief tablet in anticipation of the first day of school as I see groups of laughing children scuffing through the leaves on their way to school or the roar of the hometown crowd as the high school football team scores during that first game of the season, but something about the changing of seasons makes me think about change as well.

St. Francis Business Shows Profit in 2008

The St. Francis Equity had a very successful year in 2008 with total earnings of $1,130,742. Patronage dividends of $977,247 will be distributed to Equity stockholders in the coming weeks. Checks were also passed out following the annual Equity meeting on Monday, Jan. 5.


Greg Daughhetee, auditor with Lindburg and Vogel, Hays, said every year brings challenges but this year was very interesting in the market place. The Equity had local earnings of $612,006 which, he said, was the most earnings for the business in 20 years.
