St. Francis has a new business:

Deb George has opened up Deb's Embroidery & More. She will be able to design, embellish or personalize almost any cloth item.

In March, she purchased her first single-needle computerized embroidery machine and she was hooked.

I loved everything the machine could do, she said.

At the end of September, she attended classes in order to do commercialized embroidery.

I can embroidery just about anything, she said.

She has access to about any type of design and customize logos. The state-of-the-art machine is capable of personalizing T-shirts, regular shirts, jackets, sports bags, towel sets, aprons and a variety of crafts.

No job is too small or too large, she said.

She can supply all items or people can bring their own items to be embroidered.

Christmas is coming and she can provide the embroidering to make a gift special or, just stop by and see all the gift items and ideas she has to offer. They include casserole carriers, earmuffs to wear under cowboy hats, a variety of craft items, clocks, slippers and sports bags, just to name some.

Mrs. George has a home-based shop so there is no retail upkeep. Located southwest of St. Francis off River Road, there is oil all one-half mile to her shop. However, it is wise to call before coming to make sure she is at home. Her number is 785-332-4189.

Since purchasing the first machine, she has decided to buy two 16-needle machines and her daughter-in-law, Michelle McCoy, will be helping in the shop.

Mrs. George has always been a creative person. She said she likes to bake and decorate cakes and make crafts.

Deb is married to Harold George, manager of St. Francis Feed Yard. They have three children, Sam George, Tye George and Rio McCoy. They also have three granddaughters and two grandsons.
